Impact of Coronavirus (Covid-19) Pandemic on Small and Medium Businesses in Edo State

The study assessed the impact of Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on business in Edo State, Nigeria. It determined effect lockdown sales volume, cash flow and profit margin small medium owners amidst covid-19. 1119 operators constituted population a sample size 235 respondents were purposively selected. Four research questions gave focus to study. A 40-item structured questionnaire was used elicit information from respondents. descriptive survey design credence reliability coefficient value 0.79 obtained with use Cronbach Alpha formula. answered mean respondents’ homogeneity standard deviation. result findings revealed that COVID-19 impacted negatively margin. concluded Covid-19 as an unforeseen circumstances contingent truncated growth rendered many liquidated. therefore recommended should engage more online transaction increase facilitate increased steady maximize well develop other strategies enable their massive savings surmount crises could be inimical businesses Keywords: Impact, (Covid-19), Small Medium Businesses State DOI: 10.7176/EJBM/13-8-03 Publication date: April 30 th 2021
